OEM is the route when the formula is already yours. You bring it, or a locked specification, and the work is finding a Korean facility whose equipment, batch size and certifications actually fit it.
What it means
In a classic OEM project you bring the formula or technical specification and the manufacturer produces to it. Where you have a concept but not a finished formulation, development can run against your brief rather than starting from a shared base — and formula ownership, usage rights, exclusivity and transfer rights are agreed in writing before that development begins.
This takes longer than ODM and costs more to reach the first shippable batch. What you get is control: you decide the ingredient list, and the rights you negotiated — including exclusivity — are yours under the agreement rather than implied by the label OEM.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my existing formula for OEM production in Korea?
Usually yes, subject to a regulatory check. Some ingredients permitted elsewhere are restricted in Korea, and some UV filters and preservatives differ. We review the ingredient list before committing to a facility.
Who owns the formula in an OEM project?
In the classic OEM arrangement, you do — the manufacturer produces to your specification and gains no rights to the formulation. Have the agreement record it rather than leaving it implied by the acronym; that written allocation is what settles it.
What if my formula cannot be produced as written?
It happens — usually because of equipment limits, ingredient availability or a regulatory restriction. We identify it during feasibility, explain the constraint, and propose the smallest change that resolves it. You decide.
Is OEM more expensive than ODM?
Per unit, often yes at comparable volumes, and the path to the first batch is longer. The comparison is not really cost against cost — it is control and ownership against speed.
